Summary

Fr. Mike uses the life of St. Maximillian Kolbe as an example of how God is going to interrupt us if we choose to do his will. We may love schedules, like Fr. Mike does, but life is unpredictable and tends to create a dangerous environment for our schedules. No less happened to St. Maximillian, who had plans for his life before being sent to Auschwitz. The inconveniences put in our path may not be that extreme, but be prepared to be interrupted if you want to be a saint. See interruptions as an occasion for holiness.

Hey, I'd love to meet with you. Let's get that on the schedule. I don't necessarily like the,

0:36.4

spur of the moment kind of meeting. So I like, I like, I don't like, do you like surprise parties?

0:40.6

I do not like surprise parties. Why? Because I like scheduled parties. Scheduled parties are the

0:45.3

best parties because I can not only know that it's going to happen, I can also get excited for it,

0:50.0

like ahead of time. I like schedules. The enemy of schedule, interruption. And so I think then,

0:55.8

end up thinking like, yeah, interruptions are the worst. I hate interruptions so much. And yet,

1:01.1

this is the worst thing. And yet, almost every saint who's ever lived,

1:08.0

there are saints thanks to some kind of interruption. Like that's, that's the reality. In fact,

1:13.2

on the way, I can look at interruptions as, as an occasion of my frustration, as an occasion of

1:17.8

like this is an obstacle getting in my way, or I can begin looking at interruptions as the occasion

1:24.0

for holiness. Here's what I mean. One of my favorite saints, St. Maximele and Colby.

1:29.6

Now, he was a man who was dedicated to the Lord. He dedicated, he was dedicated to evangelization

and to the Franciscan Order and serving people literally all over the world. He's a missionary I

believe to Japan. He had come up with a number of ways to engage people with the gospel through,

1:46.3

I was going to say social media, but through media, he was, yeah, he was an evangelist. He was an
