1st Peter, Peter, Chapter 4,

7 through 11.

The end of all things is at hand.

Therefore be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.

Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.

Be hospitable to one

has received a special gift,

employ it in serving one another

as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Whoever speaks, let him speak as it were the utterances of God.

Whoever serves, let him do so as by the strength which God supplies, so that in all

things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and

dominion forever and ever. I was talking with Noel this morning trying to remember whether this text is the one that I have spoken on more than any other passage of scripture in the

last 14 years here in Bethlehem.

It might be, I think it probably is. I can remember preaching of a sermon from verse 7 on prayer. I think it was

during prayer week, be sober and wise unto your prayers.

And I can remember preaching a sermon on during,

it was in the fall, Jim, I pray two years ago on small groups just in the fall when we're trying

to get people in the small groups on hospitality and showing hospitality without murmuring

to each other.

I can remember way back at the beginning, 13 years ago, talking about the meaning
