Summary

In this episode, I'm joined by my dear friend Sarah Levy - you might remember her from when she came on the podcast back in 2022! She's the author of Drinking Games, a fellow Brown alumna, and now we're co-hosting a Cape Cod retreat together (May 29th–31st at the Ocean Edge Resort… which we talk about and are very excited about, obviously).

We recorded this one in person, and it turned into the kind of conversation that just lingers in the best way. I walked away from it feeling so inspired and honestly a little more like myself again on the songwriting & creativity front — which is always how I know something's good.

We talk about creativity in a very real, lived-in way, from writing our books to those phases where nothing is flowing, to what actually shifts when you stop trying to grip it so tightly.

We get into this idea that creativity isn't something you force or control, it's something you become available for: through space, trust, timing, and yes, sometimes letting yourself be BORED. It's honest, it's grounding, and whether you're a writer or you enjoy another creative act, if you've been feeling even a little disconnected from your creativity, I think this will feel like a deep exhale.

In this episode, we're also sharing the heart behind our upcoming Cape Cod retreat: a weekend for creativity, clarity, and a full "I feel like myself again" reset.

From May 29th–31st at the Ocean Edge Resort, we'll be gathering by the ocean for a few days of subconscious rewiring, creative flow, and deep restoration. Think slow mornings, cozy writing nooks, beach walks that turn into breakthroughs, and space to actually follow your ideas.

I'll be leading EFT tapping sessions to clear creative blocks at the root and help you reconnect with that natural, inspired momentum… so you're not just thinking about what you want to create, you're finally in it.

If you've been craving a reset, a spark, or space to come back to yourself, this is your invitation 💌

I'm so excited. I have not had a guest on in so long. Like it might have been like a full year. But I'm sitting here with my dear friend Sarah Levy, who's been on the podcast before you. Came on like 2022, right? Like right when your book came out. Yeah. 2020. Yeah. Well, that's four years. That's insane. What happens to the time?

Sarah is also an author. She's the author of the book, Drinking Games, which is phenomenal. It's a memoir-style book, and your voice shines through. Thank you. So well, I could not put that book down. It's seriously so good. I'm like, chopping at the bit for the next thing you're going to write. I'm like, please, Sarah, faster. And we're also doing the retreat around creative blocks in general, since we are both writers. Sarah also moderated when I did a little, like, talk at, it was in, where, oh my gosh, my Zill bookstore. Diesel bookstore in Los Angeles. Yes, when my book came out in May.

I'm like, that whole month was a blur. I get it. Yeah. I know. Like, where were we? I'm so glad you're here. I'm so glad you're here. So, we've always connected in all things, books. But if you guys want to hear a crazy story about serendipity, well, first of all, I'll let you say hi. And then we'll get into the story. Hi.
