Do you know that panic?

The moment you suddenly realize you've lost something valuable, the second you figure

out that you've left your ring on the counter in a public restroom, or when you find a credit

card missing from your purse or wallet.

And as a parent, is there no greater panic than the moment you realize your child has

slipped away in a crowd.

And the fear your child must feel when they know that you aren't nearby.

Both of you crying out each other's name, praying that you are close.

And then that overwhelming feeling of restoration when you find what you thought was lost.

So have you ever lost something, only to discover it was close by the whole time, hiding

in plain sight.

While the theme of this meditation from Psalm 40 is restoration, restoration after finding

what you thought was lost, recovery, and discovering what you thought was distant is

actually near.

So rest here as we begin, and settle here as the Holy Spirit opens your eyes to the close

proximity of God the Father and God the Son.
