Hello my friends and welcome back. It is time for you and me to get our minds aligned with

the truth of God. We're doing that by looking in the scriptures and we've begun a character

sketch, so to speak, of the Old Testament person, Daniel. And we're in Daniel chapter

one right now looking at the life of Daniel in the very first situation that we find described

involves Daniel being a slave, being part of a project that the king of Babylon is doing to

educate the people that he has conquered. And Daniel is within that project. He's part of that

program. And before we get going, I want to just say thank you to all those who have reached out to

All right, we're looking at Daniel chapter one, verses 17 through 21 today. And Daniel and his

three friends have been put into this program where the king is giving them his food, his education,

his wine, everything. And he is going to do this for three years and then kind of assess the

progress that these young Jewish slaves have made. All right. And we pick up the story right there.

Daniel has convinced the person who's doling out the food to give them only certain kinds of food

that would maintain their Jewish dietary convictions and restrictions. And he's agreed to do that.

And Daniel and his friends are actually excelling beyond the other

youths in the program because of this decision. And we pick it up in verse 17 of chapter one,

it says, as for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom.

And Daniel had understanding of all visions and dreams. At the end of the time, when the king had

commanded that they should be brought in, the chief of the unix brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.
