0:40.9	And we've been in a series this entire month entitled to know him,
0:44.6	breaking down the gospel to really understand the character of God.
0:49.6	And we've been pulling from this creed, which says,
0:52.2	the gospel is the good news that god became man in jesus
0:54.5	christ he lived the life we should have lived and died the death we should have died in our place
0:59.4	three days later he rose from the dead proving he is the son of god and offering the gift of
1:03.6	salvation and forgiveness of sins to anyone who repents and believes in him and so for this episode
1:09.1	as we get into part six of this series, I'm jumping
1:12.6	ahead, but I really wanted to get to this. And it is to anyone who repents and believes in him,
1:21.2	he gives a gift of salvation and forgiveness of sins. And so I want to break down what repentance looks like and how we should be
1:30.0	approaching that as believers and what this really says about God. And I think we need to start
1:35.7	with just definitions of really understanding what repentance means. So the word repent means to
1:41.8	turn away from sin and turn to a new way of living.
1:44.8	In terms of the gospel, it means not only turning away from sin and unbelief, but also turning to Christ and faith.
1:50.7	As we've mentioned in this series, repentance and faith are like two sides of the same coin.
1:56.6	You can't turn from one side, that side being sin, without turning to something else.
2:02.1	And to break it down even further, I want to look at the instructions that Paul got from Jesus
