Welcome to Politics by Faith, brought to by the Patriot Gold Group. Got an email from John yesterday.

0:09.3

He said I want to echo a lot of what people are saying about being thankful for the election

0:13.4

results. I liked the comment this morning about how God gave us our president back. We had a

0:18.3

wonderful woman from Virginia call in and talked about how we need

0:21.5

to pray for our president. And she said this. I've never heard it like this and this is so good. God gave us

0:26.3

our president back. That's a really nice way of thinking about it. But I hear a lot of explaining and

0:31.7

analyzing going on that tends to pave over God's role in the whole process. If you stopped and asked any conservative three years ago, if Trump was going to win

0:41.6

reelection in a landslide, the best answer you would have gotten was unlikely.

0:46.2

Three years ago, we weren't even sure if he was going to run, let alone will he win?

0:52.4

And who was the person who's like, oh oh yeah, landslide? Many would have said it

0:57.5

would have been a miracle. Well, now here we are. But since it's happened, it all seems perfectly

1:04.3

reasonable and even expected. Looking back, though, God's fingerprints are all over this. I think we need to be aware of our

1:12.8

tendency to steal the glory that is due to God and attributed elsewhere. I've been encouraged by

1:18.1

the conservative commentators who put Thanksgiving and glory to God at the forefront of their

1:21.7

responses to this election. We do that all the time with everything. I think about this all the time

1:26.4

with history. It's like, oh yeah, well, of course we won World War II. And you just think that just because, well, that's what happened, but there was no, of course. It's like, we barely won it. Like miracles throughout the whole process that resulted in the victory, but you look back, you're like, oh, yeah, force, one. Like, of course the Founding Fathers won the Revolutionary War. Duh. Like, well, no, like, not, duh. It was like impossible for them to have won it. And there's so many stories like that in our history where you look back, you're like, well, yeah, for you. Say, oh, yeah, of course Trump won. What do you mean of course Trump won? There was no.

I got that email and then I read, got the email on Monday night.

2:12.2

And then this morning I read Psalm 108 and they line out perfectly.

2:16.9

The end of Psalm 108 says, who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me to Edom? This is

2:19.9

David writing. He's talking about attacking a city. Is it not you, oh God, who cast us off?

2:30.7

And you, oh God, who did not go out with our armies, give us help from trouble, for the help of man is

2:39.3

useless. Through God, we will do valiantly, for it is he who shall tread down our enemies.
