The text for this morning's message is found in Paul's first letter to the Corinthians.

First Corinthians chapter 1, we'll be reading verses 18 through 25. For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who

are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and the cleverness of the clever I will thwart.

Where is the wise man? And where is the scribe? And where is the debater of this age?

Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

For since in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom,

it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save

those who believe.

For Jews demand a sign and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and

folly to Gentiles. But to those who are called both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than men and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

This series of messages that we're in the middle of right now

was born in Hebrew 611 which says we desire each one of

you to show the same earnestness in realizing the full assurance of hope to the end.

In other words, this series was born in God's word to Bethlehem saying, I want you to be passionate

and persistent in the pursuit of the full assurance of hope. I don't want you to labor under the burden of

uncertainty about your eternal life.

I don't want you to wake up in the morning and be afraid that you are not saved.

I don't want you to move through the day in a faltering, fearful, anxious way about your future.

I want you to have the full assurance of hope not only now, but right to the end end and I want you to be zealous in realizing it.

That's where it all got started back how many weeks ago.
