Okay, in today's episode, I am going to be talking about the difference between goals

versus intentions.

More to come on that in a moment. First, let's settle in with the sound of the bells. So, I'm So it's still the start of the new year at least at the time of recording and people are thinking about resolutions, making changes in their lives, setting

goals, creating intentions, and sometimes those last two, the goals and intentions, can be conflated.

But there are distinctions between those two, and I think it's important to have both goals and intentions when crafting your life.

So I'm going to share with you three ways that I distinguish goals versus intentions and why I think both are useful. So first goals are

result-oriented, intentions are process oriented.

Goals tend to be external achievements.

Intensions tend to be internal commitments.

Goals help us move toward a compelling future. Intensions help us move

us move toward a compelling present. So let's look at each of those a little more closely.

The first, goals are result oriented, intentions are process oriented.

So when we think of a goal we usually think of something

that we're working toward in the future. A certain amount of money we want to make,

a job we want to land, or even setting a new low golf score.

It's a result that we can clearly see.
