West are known for the quality of forgiveness, it's an undeniable fact that believing in redemption

and forgiveness doesn't mean that we should be a civilization of

pushovers. It is something of a complex and complicated issue. Erica Kirk can forgive her husband's

assassin. Donald Trump famously cannot. We are indeed called to offer forgiveness to the worst among us

in the hope that they will change and mend their ways.

At the very least, we're called by Christ to show forgiveness so that God can forgive us of our own sins.

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us as we pray in the Lord's prayer, as Jesus taught his disciples.

But forgiveness and permission are not the same thing.
