Hey, everybody.

This short segment is called a go-to.

It refers back to this crazy thing we used to do at the end of our sorority meetings in college, if you can believe that.

It was called for the good of the order, and it was a way to share something that had emerged over the course of the week, which

really was a bit of learning or thinking or feeling that was to everyone's benefit to share.

And so that's all we'll do here. Every Friday, we release a go-to,

and we encourage you to share it with friends around the country.

We know that people use it as a way to stay in touch with their best friends across the country,

and, of course, far-flung family members, wherever they might be. And as for your local nearest and dearest, consider it fodder for discussion over the

course of the weekend. This is Kelly Corrigan Wonders in our weekly segment called Go To.

This week's Go To is a conversation with Tammy about a film in which we saw terrific humility on display. And it's related to our

conversation on Tuesday with Father Greg Boyle. So this week's movie is The Pursuit of Happiness.

It was made in 2006, I think, and it stars Will Smith. He was a producer on it. I think he maybe found the story. It's based on a true story of Chris Gardner. That's interesting. Both of ours are about true stories. Oh, yeah, that's right. That's cool. Interesting, right? So he was a producer on it, and he plays the lead role of Chris Gardner, and his son, Jaden, plays his son, Christopher.

And you've never seen a cuter kid in your entire life.

Yeah.

And Thandi Newton plays his wife, Linda.

And it's the story of Chris Gardner was in medical sales trying to make a living.

And in the film, they have him selling bone density scanners, which are like this big box.

Looks like a sewing machine.

Yeah, and he's running all over San Francisco, you know, trying to sell this stuff.

And apparently he was a medical salesman in real life.

But it's him, it's the story of him trying to make it.
