Hi everybody.

This short segment is what we call for the good of the order.

It's something we used to do at the end of my sorority meetings, if you can believe that,

where someone would share something that they came across in the course of the week, a poem, a song lyric, a short story, that they found enormously helpful as they went about daily life.

And I wanted to pick up the thread because I am so often wowed by something I see in the world

that I want to bring back and hand off to you.

So every Friday we produce a short segment called for the good of the order.

Think of it like an audio greeting card, a thing to share with the people that you love around the country

who you don't get to see or talk to enough. A thing to discuss with the people you do see and talk to

on a more regular basis.

This is Kelly Corrigan Wonders for the good of the order. Today's go-to is pulled from a speech that was given at Lawrenceville back in

2022 where my friend's daughter, the great Sophie G, was a student and she loved it

so much that even two years after she graduated she

wanted to share it. Within this talk there are ten suggestions that Dr. Chris

Cunningham who is now the head of the Whitfield School in St. Louis suggests to the kids and I must say when I look at them

I want to suggest them for all of us because once again we discover that what's good for the

five-year-old or the 18-year-old is pretty good for us too. So here are 10 to-do's from a speech given by Dr. Chris Cunningham.

Number one, make beautiful. Make beautiful.

Entropy means that there is less beauty every day,

less order and structure and harmony,

less balance and symmetry,

fewer colors and sounds that are pure and unsullied.
