I think Lynch was amused that he was immediately asked about another team's draft,

but I do think that it was a good day in San Francisco when they drafted Ty Simpson.

I do think there was a subtext there of, okay, yeah, see that smile again. Wait,

who did the Rams take with the number 13 pick? Willie just put up a whole full screen of weapons they could have used to hurt us this year. Instead, they took some guy who maybe is going to

play against us in 2028 to 29. I don't even know. I think this pick was a very good pick for the Niners in the here

and now. And I think McVeigh was not going to take the bait and immediately go back to me and

lynchy this and I got a lot of respect for him. And it's a tough question. I get it on live TV.

But he laughed it off and got through it. I will just circle back though to what Willie and I seem to be

saying is that I just can't get there. If you are this close to a Super Bowl, draft anything

that will help you this year. Drop the punner. Drop anything that's going to be on the field this

year because I always come back to the same hypothetical and Willie come with me in your in your

headspace right now.

The L.A. Rams are in January. They're playing some crazy game against Seattle or San Francisco or

somebody from the east. I don't know. And it's it's 31.30 and there's three minutes left. And for the

love of God, they need one play. You need a play. Somebody just make a tackle or bat down a pass or drag your toe and make the catch anything. And they're like, who's going to make a play? And they look over on the sideline, the number 13 overall pick is wearing a parka in the snow on the road and he's just sitting there. He's doing nothing. And that could have been just someone to help us. It's like maybe Ty Simpson will, what's the best case scenario?

He becomes Jordan Love.

He becomes your franchise quarterback who we think is still pretty good.

Don't you just do anything you can to get another Super Bowl and then worry about it afterwards, especially the bleep them picks Rams.
