This has grabbed our attention, our buddy, Ian Rappaport, NFL Network, Inside,

reporting that Dexter Lawrence and the Giants have reached an impasse on contract extension talks, Ian adding that New York has engaged with teams on a potential trade,

and then it should actually happen ahead of the draft.

Now, the Giants actually held the press conference earlier in the day.

These comments were actually made prior to Ian's report.

Here's general manager, Joe Shane, on the Dexter Lawrence situation.

We've had good conversations with his representatives throughout the last five or six days.

Coach Dawn, myself, we've all been a communication, you know, trying to find some resolution.

I'll echo what coach said last week, you know, we'd like for Dexter to be here.

And at some point, we'll come to a resolution here.

I'm always going to pick up the phone.

So if team calls, maybe not to the effect that coach said last year,

or last week that everybody is tradable.

But no, that is my job as a general manager.
