We do begin today with a warning for beachgoers about rip current dangers.

After a young father was killed off the coast of New Jersey, Ike Jocci is at Rockaway Beach with the latest there.

Hey, Ike. Hey, Jene. Officials say there is a moderate rip current risk right here at the Rockaway Beach, which means there's a chance

for life-threatening rip currents right here by the surf zone. Now, of course, this warning

comes on the heels of multiple deadly incidents along the shore all up and down the northeast. Now,

take a look at this video. This is in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, where drone video shows the

dramatic moments

when members of the fire department scuba team racing on jet skis to rescue five distressed

swimmers, all part of the same group who were caught in a rip current. Now, witnesses say they

couldn't believe anyone would try to swim in the water at that time because of how rough it

looked. Authorities say a 16-year-old was seriously

hurt and his 31-year-old father did not survive. Now, officials say the group didn't speak

English, which could have played a factor into the group not heating warning signs in the area.
