A new study is taking a look at the effects of CTE in football players mainly after the concussion suffered

So what do we know?

Yeah, so CTE stands for chronic traumatic encephalopathy so this is a progressive

diagnosis of a brain disorder associated often the cognitive problems like

memory learning emotional disturbance and even an increased risk of early dementia. The problem is that it's not

easily diagnosed on imaging like cat scans or MRIs is definitively diagnosed

after death, but scientists are working to better understand what players are experiencing today in life.

They found and surveyed over 2,000 NFL players and professional football players and found that

one in three reported that they had chronic symptoms of CTE.

Those players, more than 25% reported that they had thoughts of suicidal ideation

or thoughts of harming themselves,
