Memorial Day weekend and for the more than 3.5 million people who were expected to fly a bit of midweek

mayhem, especially here at LaGuardia Airport, because yesterday crews found a sinkhole that

had opened up near one of LaGuardia's two runways. That caused a lot of problems. They had to

shut down that runway as they rushed in to get it fixed. That led to delays and cancellations.

That problem then compounded by thunderstorms that rolled into the region.
