First thought, we do want to begin with the chaos of the airports nationwide.

Travelers stuck waiting for hours in long security lines with nearly 10% of US TSA agents calling out sick on Tuesday.

Whit Johnson is at Newark Airport with the very latest. Hi, Whit.

Hey, Lara. Yes, we've definitely seen some longer lines here at Newark, although things are easing up a little bit right now.

But this is what airports across the country are dealing with right now, having to close

some of these security checkpoints.

And all of it's because of this partial government shutdown now entering day 34 with no end

in sight.

Thousands of TSA officers who haven't been paid in nearly three weeks are calling out sick.

And the TSA telling ABC News,

nearly 2,700 TSA workers called out Tuesday, including roughly a third of all officers at multiple

major airports, from JFK to Atlanta to Houston. And so there's been this ripple effect nationwide,
