I know we talk about this.

One of the reasons why we're seeing those increased prices during the weekend as some of my friends

and family prepared for their Super Bowl parties, they gave me a call.

Should I be scared in the supermarket? And what is my risk?

My answer to all of them is you should not be scared, but this is an ongoing outbreak, so you should be aware.

Here's something that you should all know. No evidence of transmission from properly cooked poultry or meat.

That is really important to know when you're in the supermarket. You don't have to have that fear. You just have to follow basic food

practice safety guidelines. That is separating your meat, making sure that it's up to the appropriate

temperature when you're cooking it. And also remember that eggs are sanitized before they leave

the farm or wherever they're coming from. So the risk is really low to none. Also, in terms of

general milk, this is the really important part. You have to make

sure that you're drinking pasteurized milk. I know it sounds foolish, but raw milk, and this is data

from the CDC, is responsible for three times as many foodborne illnesses and hospitalizations
