road back of healing. And ABC's Christian Cordero starts us off from New Orleans. Good afternoon,

Christian. Hey, Rebecca, good afternoon. We have really seen the

French Quarter come back to life in the past 24 hours. The whole area reopened. First,

to foot traffic yesterday afternoon, and then overnight, early this morning, vehicles started

being allowed into the French Quarter, and specifically on Bourbon Street. There is increased

security pretty much everywhere, right? We've seen officers in uniform on every block. We have seen

floodlights at night up and down Bourbon Street. And then really important to note there are

new retractable metal barriers both in the road in the French Quarter and also on the sidewalks around Bourbon Street.

And while there is still this tension in the air, people are largely moving on and trying to.

And there's a few reasons behind that. For some people, they were in town for the Sugar Bowl, right?

And so they're enjoying what the city has to offer. For some people, it's an act of defiance in the face of this attack. And then for others, especially for people

who are born and raised in the city, this is home and this is necessary to support them at a time

like this when they have had to prove so much resilience. We've spoken with a woman who is a native to New Orleans,

and she says that, you know, this city is still reeling from Hurricane Katrina. It's still

reeling from COVID-19 and what that did to tourism and to local business. And so for her, it's
