We're going to start though with another brutally cold weekend for millions of Americans.

Alex Perez is along a frozen Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio.

Wow, okay, you can't even see the lake anymore, Alex.

It's so cold out there.

Yeah, the snow started falling, so it's harder to see this brutal cold. We just cannot let go of it for some reason, Rebecca.

I want you to take a little walk with me here. We are on a pier, and I want you to look over here, because I know it looks like the North Pole.

But what you're seeing here, we're overlooking a frozen Lake Erie just last month.

It was at 1% ice coverage now.

Just a month later, it is at 95% ice coverage.

There is ice and cold as far as the eye can see.

Now, during this time, winter, usually they see about 65 to 70% ice coverage,

but it's been so brutally cold the last several weeks. They think they could see 100% ice coverage here,

and that hasn't happened since 1996. And there is no relief in sight. This deep freeze,

brutal cold, expected to impact and continue to impact the Midwest and the Northeast as we head into the weekend.
