We first begin with Hurricane Aaron battering down the East Coast with monster waves and potentially deadly rip currents.

Hi, Rebecca. Yes, a beautiful day here on Rockaway Beach, but don't get a twisted. Take a look at

these monster waves crashing ashore here. Yes, Aaron has moved off the coast, the East Coast, but that rough surf and those dangerous, life-threatening rip currents sticking around throughout the weekend. And it's something that we've already seen up and down the eastern seaboard. Take a look at some of this video coming in from coastal towns with by the rough chop and flooding. In North Carolina, parts of Highway 12 12 taking on water crews working nonstop to clear that

only roadway through the outer banks, but also in Massachusetts seem the same thing, surging

water spilling over roads, lifeguards on New York's Long Island pretty busy, racing to save

surfers trapped by this rough surf.

And here in the tri-state area, we know that beaches are also closed. We expect all of this rough chop to kind of subside over the weekend, but still the dangerous potential for those life-threatening rip currents. I mean, look at these massive waves. I mean, the surfers, they've been enjoying this, but certainly the red flag warnings are up. No swimming. That is the message from officials here on Rockaway Beach, guys.
