Thank you, Martha. Delighted to be here. Thank you so much for coming in today. I guess my first

question is for people who are listening, what is the role of the president? How do you see your

role? Well, the United Nations is made of

193 member states and we have a big parliament, one seat, one vote, regardless of how many

square kilometers. So I preside over the assembly and my role is to make sure that we reach agreement, even on the

most difficult issues that I handle and manage the decision-making process, processes within

the United Nations that I encourage all member states to comply with the resolutions and the commitments we make

and deliver on the mandates I'm given by the member states. So it is a very sometimes complex
