Kelly on this episode, we're going back to a location we did in 2016. It's one of these glorious castles, glamorous castle. I can't wait for the listeners to hear this one. There's a lot of weird legends and such connected to this and spirits. You ready to go back? I'm ready. Many believe that Glamas Castle is the most beautiful castle in Scotland. This castle is stood for

650 years and dates back to the 14th century, remaining in the hands of one family for centuries.

That family is the Bose-Lions family, now known as the Earls of Strathmore. Members of the royal

family are among that number.

Not only is there a deep history to the land,

but legends and lore abound here as well.

Glamas Castle is said to be one of the most haunted castles

in the United Kingdom.

Join us as we explore the history and hauntings of Glamas Castle.

The castle is named for the nearby village. The estate encompasses a massive 14,000 acres. Before the castle was here, the area was home to the Picks. The Picks date back to the 6th century and were around until the 9th century. They left behind monumental stones that are intricately carved with symbols and

inscriptions known as Pictish stones. Initially, the picks were thought to be uncivilized tribal

wildmen who fought off the Roman legions. But scholars and archaeologists have found them to be

quite different people who were Christian and built monasteries. And they appeared to build with the divine proportion.

Do you know what that is, Kelly? I do not. This is a ratio of dimensions in 1.618 to 1 and appears in nature.
