All right, we're beginning a new series called The Key to Everything.

And before I tell you, word to turn to the scripture, let me just let you know why I named this, The Key to Everything.

Pastor Jack Hayford wrote a book years ago and he called it the key to everything.

So I read this book while I was on vacation and again and I read it last year and it is one of the best books I've ever read in my life.

And I called Pastor Jack and told him that and we have them available in the bookstore.

So if you're looking for a very good book right now, I was tempted in this series to actually read

Chapter 1 to you, which I've never done from the pulpit, just stood up and read a book

other than the Bible.

But it is the most humorous chapter and most convicting that I've ever read in any book.

So please pick up a copy of it and we're gonna base the series

on the book but we're to go some different ways.

So now, turn to 1st John chapter 3,

and Deuteronomy 15.

Even though Pastor Chris Hodges made fun of me last week,

turn to two passages of scripture, please.

So, you know, he says that in a good spirit

because he actually does that now.

And I wish every pastor would at least

ask people to turn to one passage of scripture.

I've been in some churches recently where nobody brings their Bible and sometimes the

pastor doesn't even use the verse from the Bible and I think that's very very sad
