Every one of us as parents wants to give good things to our kids.

It may be that in that quest you've gotten your child involved in sports or music or

you've encouraged them to join a special club or something.

Certainly we've had moments over the years where we've pushed even somewhat reluctantly,

get involved, do this, you'll like it, and sometimes extra opportunities can be a way to grow

other times it's not what your child needs most and we're going to talk about that

today on this episode I'm John Fuller along with Danny

Werta who heads up our parenting and youth department here at Focus on the

family. Let's go ahead and start with the conversation focused president

Jim Daly and I had with Pediatrician Dr. Meeker who wrote the book The Ten Habits of Happy

Mothers.

And Meg, you encourage moms to make a couple of lists of goals in their lives. How do you suggest they go about making that list?

That could be a broad list.

Yeah.

Oh, of course.

Well, make sure you put yourself on that list.

And what does that look like? What are those things you're putting?

Well, what that looks like is, okay, what are my kids really neat? What are the three things I really need?
