Welcome to the buck nuts morning five round Wednesday May 27th 2020 I am Dave Biddle. I am joined by the people's champ Matt Baxindale.

Bax and I are going to answer your questions from the front row message board.

A lot of good questions to get to. Let's start right at the top.

First question comes from people's buck. Bax's question is well such a high profile recruit like Cory Foreman and being in a position that Ohio State is in with the best defensive line coach in the country.

Once Cory Foreman decommitted from Clemson how much did Ohio State communicate with him to see if there was any interest at Ohio State even try to kick the tires on him.

Now for my understanding Ohio State never really felt like they had a good connection with Cory Foreman. I don't know if they just they just didn't vibe.

I mean they just there was just never that connection and if you know anything about how Ryan Day and his staff recruits they target kids and you know they're they're more of a sniper approach not machine gun like they are going to like

target a kid and show them all the love in the world. So for some reason for my understanding there just was never that connection between Ohio State and Cory Foreman.

All right, let's get to the next question back so you can take this one. This is from.

Hey V. Dub T. A. Y. V. Dub. If Ohio State doesn't win the national championship this year Bax are they officially not in the elite top tier of college football.

Well, I don't think that's even remotely conceivable at this point.

They at that point would have made their fourth playoff birth right.

And nobody else outside of Clemson and Alabama has more than that.

So on top of that who's won the national championships right.

There's been four schools that have won a national championship in the playoff era and Ohio State's one of them.

So I don't think you remotely call that they're not in the elite tier they're recruiting as well as anybody in the country.

And if you look at the last look at the way the seasons have gone for us you right 2014 they won the title 2015 they were easily the best team in the country.

And they lost one game and it happened to be too late the season for them to overcome it's made to play off.

And they happen to lose to the one team that screwed them from getting in the big 10 championship game 2016 they made it when.

I don't even want to get into that team that they made the playoff right 2017 that let's just say that that was the first of the two straight years where there was sort of a fluke kind of loss that kept them out to a team

that they should never have lost to right when the last year they got in and everybody watched that game including most Clemson fans admitted that OSU was almost clearly the better team.
