Summary
“I wish I’d yelled less,” “I should’ve tidied up more”—sound familiar? We’re pretty hard on ourselves as moms, especially when we’re deep in the thick of parenting. With a little distance it’s a bit easier to recognize how much we’ve actually done for our families. Today Meagan and Sarah reflect on our early parenting years and give credit where credit is due and offer compassion to our younger selves. Turns out, we were doing the best we could with what we had – just like you!

| 0:00.0 | Hey friends, Megan here. I wanted to ask you a favor. My book, the last parenting book you'll ever |
| 0:05.5 | read, comes out in May. And if you're planning to order a copy for yourself or maybe a friend or your |
| 0:10.7 | sister, pre-ordering is so helpful. Pre-orders of books kind of signal to retailers that people are |
| 0:17.5 | interested in a particular title. So then that retailer makes sure to order lots of copies from the publisher, |
| 0:23.6 | which means the book just has a way better chance of selling well. |
| 0:26.6 | And if you were planning on checking this book out from the library, |
| 0:29.3 | you can also ask your library to pre-order their copy in advance, which also helps. |
| 0:34.8 | I'm really hoping to get this book into the hands of as many moms as possible, |
| 0:38.6 | and I know this community can help make it a success. Again, it's the last parenting book you'll |
| 0:43.9 | ever read coming in May from source books, and you can pre-order copies on bookshop.org, |
| 0:49.7 | Amazon, Barnes & Noble.com, or requested at your local library today. |
| 0:55.1 | Hi, I'm Megan. |
| 0:56.5 | And I'm Sarah. |
| 0:57.5 | We're two moms with eight kids between us and we're the hosts of the mom hour. |
| 1:01.6 | On this show, we're joined by a team of unique mom voices from across the country and in different |
| 1:06.3 | stages of motherhood to bring you tips, ideas, and encouragement. |
| 1:09.9 | And to help you feel a little less |
| 1:11.3 | alone. We all know that motherhood is a lot easier when real moms share honest truths and remind |
| 1:16.7 | each other that it's all going to be okay. We're not experts. We're parents who've been there. |
| 1:21.1 | We're not perfect. We're real. Welcome to the mom hour. |
| 1:25.9 | Hey everyone and welcome to episode 506 of the mom hour. |
| 1:29.9 | I'm Megan Francis here with Sarah Powers. |
