At a certain point, she arose.

Hannah took those bitter and anguished feelings to God, honestly, in prayer.

That's what we've got to do.

We've got to take whatever it is that is grieving our

spirits and vexing us and causing us to be bitter and put it before God in prayer.

Some of God's greatest blessings are born out of the worst of circumstances.

Hello and welcome to Destin for Victory. Today we have a special Mother's Day message to share with you from a very special person.

Lady Meredith Shepard, who was married to our friend and teacher Pastor Paul Shepard

for over 40 years, will share with us the Old Testament story of Hannah.

It's a story to which we know many can relate, a young woman who longed to be a mother but could not.

For years, she was heartbroken over her infertility, but then she made a decision that changed the course of her life and the trajectory of a nation.

Let's listen closely to Lady Meredith Shepard with an important Mother's Day message, giving birth to blessing.

Praise the Lord. Well, again, I want to say to all the women who are mothers, mother figures, who are godmothers, grandmothers, aunties, foster

mothers, adoptive mothers, caretakers, happy Mother's Day. God bless you. And with that in mind, the title of

this message is giving birth to blessings. Giving birth to blessings. And I'm going to be reading

from a rather lengthy passage of scripture, 1 Samuel chapter 1, verse 1 through 20 now there was a certain man and his name was

Elkanah and he had two wives the name of one was Hannah and the name of the other

Penina penina had children but Hannah had no children.

This man went up from his city yearly to worship and sacrifice to the Lord of host in Shiloh.

Also, the two sons of Eli, Hoffney and Phineas, the priest of the Lord, were there. And whenever the time

came for Elkanah to make an offering, he would give portions to Penina, his wife, and to all her

sons and daughters. But to Hannah, he would give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, although the Lord had closed her womb.
