One of the things that I don't think I appreciated until watching this with audiences like yourself is like, Billy is free in that interview that we do with her at 82 years old.

And in a way that when you see her in the 70s, she's much more contained, right?

She has a weaker voice.

She's more controlled.

And just to see like this is somebody like, not only embraces themselves,

but, like, takes the responsibility of the individual and changes the world around them.

She received a DJ Award nomination for outstanding directorial achievement in documentary for her 2016 film, What Happened Miss Simone.

Wolf's other directorial credits include the upcoming documentary feature The Feminist Tapes

and episodes of the series, I'll Be Gone in the Dark.

Following the documentary series screening of the film at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles,

Garbus and Wolfe spoke with director Andi Timoner about filming Give Me the Ball.
