It was a notorious standoff between Jack Kirby, creator of so many of your favorite Marvel Titans, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, X-Men Avengers, Fantasy Four, and with the company that employed and published all of those works. Just how did that work out in the end?

Hey everybody, welcome to another edition of Robeservations. I am your host, Rob Leifeld.

We hear at Robeservations, we study the histories, we discuss the histories of comic books, of comic books

superheroes, and of the absolute explosion of comic books and superheroes across all platforms

in pop culture and the way they are dominating over the last several decades.

I have from day one given you my perspective, seven years old, 1974, pulling those

comic books off the spinner rack, and my journey is both a fan and as a professional.

As a professional, I have been doing this for 38 years, and I could not be having a better

time as I am currently making comic books before and

after I'm doing this podcast. It is something I intend to do until I am slumped over,

passed out on my drawing table or with my with my lap board, you know, where I do the majority of my drawing,

comic books have just captured the attention of the world in a way that they had not

prior to the 2000s.

And so we discuss the characters, the creators, more importantly, the creators above all, the practices,

the trends.
