I'm your host, Matt Carter, and y'all are about to get snake bit by David Bunton of the Showdown.

Now, the Showdown are a very special band who are able to break a lot of new ground and turn a lot of heads

by really taking what was going on in heavy music and amplifying it to extreme levels and adding new layers of performance and mixing in crowd interaction and humor to create something like a symphony of chaos where the showdown played the audience like an instrument.

And their frontman, David Bunton, is a legend in the scene when it comes to stage persona.

The showdown blended metal with classic rock and were a big part of the dirty southern heavy scene,

along with He is Legend, the Malene, and the Sons of Disaster.

And we'll hear from David in just a bit, but first we're going to talk to the guy who discovered the showdown.

That's Brad Moist from Mono versus Stereo and Go Tea Records, who signed these kids from just the woods of Tennessee, and then just a few short years later had them on Ozfest.

On a side note, I wanted to take the moment to point out that the band the Blaimed old tooth and nail band

Brian Gray's band who you know from the Facebook group the Blamed have a live stream on

Friday night tonight that is the 19th and it'll be up all weekend if you're just

getting to the episode in that window of time it's an old school two for one punk show
