Hi y'all. Welcome back to Gilmore to Read. I'm of course your host Haley. And I feel like it's a really

big welcome back. We have not been back with Gilmore to read for a second. We took a brief break

from the book club in July. That was kind of hard to say, but I just

nailed it and no one, no one witnessed it. I guess that's entirely untrue because I'm actually

recording a podcast, which you were listening to right now. So you totally witnessed it. I'm so sorry.

I was just really proud of myself. But we did take a break in July because I was sick and we

were traveling a lot and very busy and trying to get things covered for the podcast that we

let the book club have a little brief break. And I'm so excited to be back with y'all this month

for August. Reading is Sexy is Reading is Reading What Happens After Midnight by K.L.

Walter, which I have been dying to read with the book club.

I read this one as an advanced reader copy back in February, I think it was. And I've been sitting on it just being like, I cannot wait till this book actually comes out and I can read it with the book club. I'm very excited.

And then where you read, I will follow, is reading Severance by Ling Ma. I have been wanting to read this book for so long. And then where you read I Will Follow is reading Severance by Ling Ma. I have been wanting

to read this book for so long. And this again was one of those books that I started before the

month of August and I'm already like 75 pages into it because I just immediately got absorbed.

So I'm so interested to hear what you guys have to say. But it has been a minute since we've done an episode of Gilmore to read.

And I'm very, very excited for today's episode, which I do mention I say excited way too much once we get into the conversation.

Because today I am joined by none other than Tara DeWitt, who is the author of Funny Feelings, which was reading a sexy's pick for June.

A little about Tara. She's an author, wife, and mama. When she felt like she devoured every

rom-com available in 2020, she indulged herself in writing bits and pieces of her own. Eventually,

those ramblings from her notes app turned into her debut novel. Tara love stories centered

around perfectly imperfect characters, specifically the ones who

may have just enough trauma to keep them funny without being forcefully cavalier.
