Summary

My book loving besties! On Wednesdays, we talk books!!!

New York Times Bestselling author, host of her own podcast, and an icon in the romance genre, Sarah MacLean joins me to chat about two new journeys she's on: watching Gilmore girls and writing contemporary novels like her latest release, These Summer Storms (think Succession if Lorelai Gilmore was a Roy!) In the episode, we talk about what it's like for a writer like Sarah to dive into season 1 of Gilmore girls with her own Rory, how she started writing historical romance over a decade ago, and what it was like writing These Summer Storms in the summer of Alice!

If you want more to hear more from Sarah, listen to her podcast, Fated Mates, here!

In September, Gilmore To Read is reading A Witch's Guide To Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna.

I want to tell you a bit about her latest book, which came out earlier this summer in July, called The Summer Storms. I absolutely loved this book. I have been describing it, pitching it to people, trying to convince people to read it by saying that it is Succession. If Lord Like Gilmore joined the Roy family, the synopsis reads, Alice isn't like the other

induce her to come back except the shocking death of her larger-than-life father. Now back in the

Every corner of the sprawling old house is bursting dysfunctional chaos. Her older sister's secret love affair, her brother's incessant mansplaining, her sister-in-law's unapologetic greed,
