This is the book that we will be reading for August and September, and it's actually a book

that Rory read on the show.

If you remember in season six, there's an episode called A Vineyard Valentine, where

Lorelae and Luke go with Rory and Logan to the Huntsberger's house in Martha's Vineyard.

And if you recall Rory is sitting on the couch reading The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion.

This is one of my favorite books. It's a nonfiction following the year after the very sudden loss of Joan's husband.

It is such a profound portrait of grief and moving through life after someone who is such an integral part of it is suddenly gone.

There's so much heartbreak in this book, but Joan Didien's writing, if you have never read it, it's just a marvel.
