I'm your host, Haley, and I'm so glad to have you here today.

We are continuing the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Gilmore Girls this week. It was Sunday,

October 5th. So we're just back in celebration mode, as we should be because today, October 8th,

is Roy Gilmore's 41st birthday. And naturally, we'll celebrate by talking about books as we do on

Gilmore to read. And not always the books that she

would have on her shelves but definitely a book she would be a character in though it is quite rude

if I am now thinking about it because the pitch that I have for you for today's author for her book

that just came out is to kind of remove Rory from the story that's kind of rude to to do on her birthday today, but I'm going to do it anyway.

Because Rory and Lorelei are known for having that mother-daughter thing

and her mother finding love in the single guy who owns the diner.

But what if Lorelei was the grumpy single lady running the inn with no kids except for her dog and luke was the happy

not so serious single father who owns the bakery in town if we took all of them up to vermont in

1997 then that would give you if it makes you happy by julia Olivia, who is my guest today for the podcast.

Now, maybe we took Rory out of it, but we're putting Julie into it, and I promise that you

are going to love it. Her latest novel, if it makes you happy, was independently published

last year by her, which is so impressive, and then was acquired by Berkeley and re-released

traditionally in September and debuted as a USA Today

bestseller, which is incredible. So a little bit about this book, I will read you the synopsis,
