Summary

On this lovely Thursday, I am joined by Jessica Joyce, the author of Reading Is Sexy's August pick-- The Ex Vows. Georgia, the main character of The Ex Vows, is a blend of Rory's character traits with Lorelai's lost relationship with Luke. Jessica has noticed some patterns about releasing your first and second novels and shares how she gets her brain ready to write. She's of course a Gilmore girls fan and reveals which of Rory's team she's on and why! We love a why! And of course, we have a spoiler chat about The Ex Vows (listen out for the warning!) and how crafting such beautiful emotional arcs for both Georgia and Eli was a lot like taking them to therapy. Next month, we'll be reading The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna and The Third Gilmore Girl by Kelly Bishop. Be sure to join our Patreon for our spoiler-FULL rewatch, Gilmore Revisited as we start Season 6 and for access to Gilmore To Read book cljub. our Gilmore-inspired romance book club will be reading The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sango Mandana.

This has been described as a warm and uplifting novel about an isolated witch whose opportunity

1:00.9

to embrace a quirky new family and love changes the course of her life.

1:05.7

She goes to a new town to the no warehouse to teach three young witches to control their magic.

1:10.2

And I picked this one,

1:11.2

of course, for the autumnal October witch vibe, but also because we can clearly recognize the

1:17.8

theme of finding a place where you belong and discovering a family you are not born into

1:22.6

who will accept you as you are. A found family of quirky individuals, we are very familiar with that,

1:28.8

are we not? So I'm very excited to read that one. As for where you read, I'll follow, we will be
