I've been wanting to talk to this guy for a really long time because he always struck

me as someone who was unusually honest and interesting.

And I always thought he was kind of fearless publicly in a way that I found strange and

made him a bit of an eccentric for a lot of different reasons.

So Gilbert Arinus, thank you for making the time for us.

I've always been wondering how you became that way because it struck me as an unusual

confidence for a guy to have who hadn't exactly been a star all his life, who hadn't been

given the easy route.

What's funny, I was a shy kid growing up, scared to do interviews.

I remember when I went out for my first commercial, I was supposed to be an actor.

Because the Grand Hill Sprite commercial and I got camera shy and freaked out and went

home.

So I wasn't this agent zero personality.

I'm still not that guy in person.

I just found a way to when the cameras is on, give them a character that they would want

to listen to.

Just fooling around with the media, you were a little bit ahead of your time, right, in

terms of being able to know how to make things go viral.

Sort of the first guy who was out there doing some things in sports that were playing, I

guess it's a bit of an act.

Yes, it's, you know, it's sound bites, you know, I learned early, everyone has a job
