I didn't know or follow Christian calendar.

Today is actually a Pentecost Sunday.

And it's not necessarily exactly a day that Holy Spirit came on this earth.

But it's a day that Christian world celebrates as a symbol of Holy Spirit coming, coming to this world.

And it's a very significant event.

Pentecost, contrary to some people's beliefs, is not about Christians receiving the gift of speaking in

tongues. While we heard a testimony of a lovely lady today who experienced the baptism of the

Holy Spirit and really it shifted her life. On the Pentecost, yes, it was a baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of

speaking in tongues, but baptism, but Pentecost is something more than speaking in tongues.

And that's what I want to talk today about. I want to talk today about

this gift that we received during the Pentecost, during the coming of the Holy Spirit. And so

I want to open with the scripture, and I want us to read together. Second Corinthians chapter 13, verse 14, if we can put that up.

Oftentimes we read the scripture during our church benediction, meaning when we end the church.

And so I want you on the count of three to read it together with me.
