Summary

The guys break down a busy stretch of sports news, starting with the Giants reshaping their wide receiver room by adding Calvin Austin and Darnell Mooney. They debate what the moves mean for the offense, whether Darius Slayton could be on his way out, and why the additions could create new mismatches even if the team still targets a receiver in the draft. They also dive into the quarterback carousel after Justin Fields is traded to the Kansas City Chiefs while the Jets pivot toward Geno Smith for stability. Later, the conversation shifts to Citi Field as new construction threatens to create a parking nightmare for Mets fans. From shuttle plans and transit incentives to street-parking “secrets,” the crew shares stories, frustrations, and survival strategies for getting to the ballpark this season.

Over the weekend, they made a couple of moves changing or altering their wide receiver room. They brought in two guys, number one, Calvin Austin, formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers, wide receiver. I think we briefly hit that on Friday. Did we? Yeah, briefly because of how... When did it? I thought it was like Friday night it happened. No, I think it was Thursday night. It happened. It was Thursday night. Friday just we talked about it Friday. Just about how he wasn't a favorite of Aaron Rogers last year, and it felt like all of his tenure in Pittsburgh. He just hasn't had a quarterback that really is, you know, wanted to get him the ball and get him involved. But he's a talented player and he's young. And so why not take a shot on?

0:37.8

Yeah, I mean, he's still very young.

0:39.1

He's going to be in the league for a couple of years. Right. And the other one that didn't happen while we were on the years, Darnel Mooney, the former wide receiver of the Atlanta Falcons, before that the Chicago Bears. Do we like this move? I like it because he's familiar with the offensive coordinator, Madnagie. and so he's got potential.

0:55.2

I don't know what hisie. And so he's got potential.

0:55.3

I don't know what his ceiling is,

0:57.7

but he's a body who you're not going to lose on.

1:00.7

And so you take a shot at him.

1:02.3

If he thrives, great.

1:03.6

If not, then it's no harm, no foul in a sense.

1:07.4

But you're also, there's no downside to it.

1:09.6

Right.

1:10.4

Combine, these moves have made me feel way better about the wide receiver room. Really? They don't prohibit you from adding a wide receiver in around one, two, four, whatever you want to do here. But here's what it does. The Giants basically played without Malik neighbors last year, and you saw how exposed Darius Slayton was to catching the football in big spots. They have added two speed dynamic players here in Calvin Austin and Mooney, which allow you, with all the tight end and the heavy stuff they're going to do to have some mismatches. And I think that's good. And I think that's important. I think Mooney took a step back statistically last year. And I think that had a lot to do with the Falcon quarterback play. I trust him way more, and maybe it's just the new treasure here, than Darius Slayton,

if we have to have a wide receiver to in terms of his speed and hands. I think Darius Slaten is gone. That's the impression I'm starting to get. Am I wrong about that? We'll see. It doesn't save them any. I got to, yeah, I was going to see the contract situation and the cap saving, so it doesn't really do anything.

2:03.0

So you might as well see if you're... Save the many. I got a lot. Yeah, I was going to see the contract situation and the cap saving.

2:01.0

So it doesn't really do anything. So you might as well see.

2:05.0

Oh, it's not even about the finances. It's the impression I'm getting. So John Harbaugh takes over and we all jump to I. Who is he won? Who does he not want? I think we were all surprised, as we mentioned last week, that they brought Evan Neal back.

2:14.8

Okay, he believes in Evan Neal.

2:16.1

He thinks he can fix him.

2:17.1

Great.

2:17.7

I'm just getting the impression that Darius Slayton is very expendable.

2:21.3

Not that. last week that they brought Evan Neal back. Okay, he believes in Evan Neal, thinks he can fix him great.

3:11.3

I'm just getting the impression that Darius Slayton is very expendable. Not that they're going to cut him to save a lot of money, but that John is looking at the wide receiver and saying, eh. Yeah, and looking at the production. Yeah. You go watch him on tape and it's like, you have to make some of these plays. Yeah. The other big piece of news we talked about earlier, Justin Fields officially traded from the New York Jets to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Jets are picking up part of the contract. They're also getting back a sixth round pick for a seventh round pick. So very similar to the Gino Smith thing. So basically, they've essentially traded Justin Fields for Gino Smith. And what that is is a non-lottery ticket, but more dependability. Say what you want about Gino Smith. Obviously, the beginning of his career was very rocky. Last year was not a great year, but he did put together a couple of successful seasons in Seattle. He feels like competence. That's what he feels like. Not that he's a franchise quarterback. Not that he's going to be the guy for the next five years. Obviously at his age, that would be asking a lot, but that the Jets have traded up for competence in terms of Gino Smith for Justin Fields. And it also creates
