Big Blue Banter, New York Giants football podcast. I'm Dan Schneier joined so as my co-as Nick Falado today. We're here to break down the tape on a couple Ohio State defenders. We haven't covered yet to guys that honestly I like a lot on tape. And I think Nick as well will also like on tape as his door moves open. I think Phoenix is perking through the door, peeking through the door, trying to push it open, trying to say, Nick feed me, Nick give me attention, Nick give me love. Check, check, check, check all the time. He gets it all the time, but he's just incessant. He just never stops wanting attention. Good for him. He lives a good life because he gets it most of the time. So it just like seems like a great life, the dog life. But anyway, trying to make a couple signings, these late vet, late third wave for agency signings in the last couple days. Two offensive linemen, no fans have been pining for offensive linemen. Well, they may not be too enthused to hear. those two offensive linemen are Daniel Falay-Lay, who is a player we talked about with Ken Mukisik and somebody who he thought would definitely follow Harbaugh to Baltimore. And it seems from Baltimore to New York, it seems like he did. And then Lucas Patrick, who's played some guard, some center, had a couple, I think he had a stretch of like really good PFF grades for what it's worth i have not watched lucas patrick at all so i don't know if the plan is to make him kind of that schlottman role for the giants right we lost schlopman maybe he's the center the backup for jMS who's had some injuries what are your thoughts on these two signings so i don't have much um uh lucas patrick year old, 6 for 3, 3, 313 pounds. Former Duke Blue Devil didn't really play last year with the Cincinnati Bengals, it was with the Saints prior to that, and then he was a starter for the Chicago Bears in 2023. So it's been a little bit, committed 11 penalties that year. Again, I just think he's an Austin Schlotman replacement to back up John Michael Schmitz, not somebody who's going to be guaranteed to make the roster. That's how I'm interpreting the Lucas Patrick signing. Now, with Daniel Feilele, a little bit more interesting. And Twitter, man, it's a blaze with negativity about Daniel Fyner. This is a fine signing, though, right? Because Daniel Fylele wasn't good last year as a right guard. But when you look at the Giants roster right now, you bring back Evan Neal, you bring back Josh Azudu. Okay. You have, you bring back Aaron Steny as well. And you have Jake Kubis on the roster. None of those players give you a warm and fuzzy feeling that they're going to be the starter at right guard.

2:51.5

So add another player of that ilk to that lot who is familiar with Greg Roman and who is familiar with John Harbaugh, who can compete for that position.

3:00.3

And the Giants want to be more physical.

3:01.6

What do we talk a lot about?

3:02.9

Yeah.

3:03.2

The finesse nature, if you will, I guess guess is a way to be kind about it of the interior

3:08.4

offensive line daniel filet for all of his faults which he does have some of them and we'll bring

3:13.4

that up and i did a piece on him over at big blue you go check it out if it's dropped yet he's strong

3:19.0

at the point of attack and if he gets his hands on you he can he can move you all right he's

3:23.5

six but eight three hundred and

3:25.0

eighty pound that's a massive dude dan right like he has at least that type of strength i would

3:30.0

argue and it's a little frustrating that he's not nearly as strong as his frame would suggest

3:35.2

but he still can move bodies do well block he he can be functional as a run blocker when you get get him on the move a little bit, it's not as good because he is 6 foot 8, 380 pounds.

3:46.6

So he's not going to be the most explosive. He's not going to have elite lateral agility.

3:51.6

But why I think the signing is fine, and that's probably how I would constitute it fine,

3:56.6

is because it just gives
