What up everybody? Welcome to the Meadowland. It's freezing cold. Seems like it might be snowing again. And Washington for the first time in more than two months got a win. This is Beltway football. I'm J.P. Finley. He's the big man, Mitch Dishler. It wasn't clean. It wasn't pretty, but a win is a win, dude. The locker room needed a win. I don't know. They won the game, and they needed to. Exactly. We walked into the locker room and immediately heard a player say, it's been a long time since we've won. And as much as fans are going to want to yell about draft position and all that stuff. It's too. The draft position is talking. They have four games left. If it's one game, fine. We can have a draft position conversation. That's not realistic in NFL locker rooms. Right. And the guys in the locker room needed it. And you heard it to a man at the podium from Marcus and Terry and Mikey and everybody. For me, I love that you saw young guys impacting this game in all three phases. You had Mikey Sandor still with a pick on defense. You had Jalen Lane with two really nice punt returns. And then offensively, Bill had a nice day today. Put one on the today one on the ground but yeah but he got 16 for 98 or something

it's pretty nice a great cut on the on the uh on the touchdown run totally like for everybody

it's like oh i play the young guys let him develop they did today i thought that was a big

positive today even josh conner, who had a rough day.

Like he had a hold, he got beat.

Abdul Carter kind of took his lunch money. The only thing about that, Abdul Carter sack, Marriota stood in the back of that pocket. He was oblivious. Had he taken one step up, Connerley would have ushered him right around the backside. Connery also recovered two fumbles. Right. Which is really, I asked me honest, I was like, you ever seen a lineman get two?

He's like, I don't think I've seen him get two.

Not a tackle.

Right.

Yeah, maybe a center or something, but it is wildly cold out here. This stadium is always cold. Wind whips through here. But I think Connerly getting those two fumble recoveries is a little bit of a microcosm of like, hey, things are going bad,

but like you stay, not to steal DQ, but you stay in the fight, you know, you see these guys still engaged and Connolly could have easily hung his head. I think that's a Davey Martinez original. Is it? Yeah. There you go. Because you know how much I love the Nats. That's wonderful to hear. because I listen to SVPs and Stanford Steve's podcast and they wanted to print t-shirts. And I think Davey Martinez has a trade model. Oh, all right. Seriously. Because they always say that. But I think you saw these guys continue to fight. And, you know, we talked about this locker room staying together a fair amount. And I think, you know, despite the Giants doing everything they could to give away the game, the commanders then tried to give it away. You saw them stay with it. I had an off-record conversation with a player in the locker room just now about, you know, I was saying, I was like, man, I get asked all the time about DQ losing the locker room. And I know it's not the case. And he said, the response was we had a full pad in practice on thursday we're

three and ten nobody wanted to do that but you do it because we're all in it together and that

speaks volumes and yeah dude they snap an eight game losing streak by beating a bad giant's team

if you're all in on jackson dart i'm not so sure he was not that impressive as a pastor

there's the roller coaster experience right he can. He can make plays. He's a playmaker with his legs. And I mean, the touchdown throw to Tracy in the corner of the head is. Beautiful. But this was two bad teams and Washington proved to be that much better. They're just a little bit better. Barely, barely better. But the two fourth quarter fumbles, they, Washington did everything they could to, pun intended, fumble this thing away.

And it was great to see the defense step up on that final drive and get a stop,

mostly because neither of us wanted overtime.

Oh, my God.

I don't think anyone wanted overtime here.

But, I mean, that would have been worse than preseason overtime.

Oh, my gosh.

The weather was not a factor outside of just being freezing cold.
