Summary

Evan Roberts and Tiki Barber dive into a wide ranging sports conversation that starts with the Giants and the growing tension around players bringing politics into public view. The discussion centers on Abdul Carter, Jaxson Dart, locker room culture, and why social media can turn private disagreements into team distractions. The guys also debate whether the Yankees have a clear path through the American League despite concerns about their record against winning teams. Plus, Tiki offers insight into how taxes can influence free agency decisions, and the show wraps with a sharp breakdown of Aaron Judge’s game changing throw and another reminder that Tiki knows ball.

Let us go to Ryan in Jersey City. What's up, Ryan? Gentlemen, how are we doing today? Great show, as always. Thank you, man. Peaky looking jack, man, getting me motivated for the gym here in about 30 minutes. I'm telling you. I'd have to see you in the Hall of Fame, man. I hope so, one of these days. Yeah, likewise, likewise. I just want to preface by saying, you know, the three things we never used to talk about. Politics, health, and religion. Now Stanley always talked about in today's society, right? So true. It's ridiculous. That's where we at. And I'm calling about Abdul, of course. Yeah. You know, I really don't have an issue with him. Aaron is mine. It is no problem to me.

1:11.2

Speaking your mind, that's what makes this country great. Right. I do have a problem with it as a huge giant fan. Just do it between the locker room. I mean, you didn't have the greatest year last year. You know, why don't you just have your conversation in the locker room, man to man with Jackson Dart, not publicly airing it? So you got idiots like Ryan Clark speaking on it or some, you know, people from sports that are making a clip out of nothing. Right. And also, he can tell me if I'm overlooking this or if I'm seeing wrong pictures on Twitter. He looks awfully skinny. Yeah. Are these guys sit in the wait room anymore? You know what's funny, Ryan? I saw those pictures, too.

1:29.7

And I was like, dude, is somebody messing with him, like, altering photos? Because it's so doable. You think it's AI? Much like how he just thought Jackson Tart was AI? No, no, no. He just looked really skinny. Right. And not a football player skinny. So concerning skin. And the first thing I thought was somebody's messing with him AI-wise.

1:29.7

So I haven't actually seen a giant... And not a football player skinny. So concerning skin. Yeah. Like the first thing I thought was somebody's messing with him AI-wise.

1:36.2

So I haven't actually seen a giant base from any of the giant photographers.

1:39.6

And so, I mean, he looks skinny.

1:41.8

So I wonder what he was doing this off-season.

1:44.9

But again, that could just be social media messing with them.

1:53.1

To his other point, and Ryan's other point, I 100% concur that things like that should happen in the locker room.

1:55.5

I've told you this story about the hot box that we used to have.

1:57.3

It's the steam room.

1:58.7

It's right in the middle of the shower.

2:20.6

Like you walk in the shower, this is the old giant stadium. So it was not as constructed as beautifully as the current one training facility is. So you'd walk in and there'd be a sauna, like this massive sauna on right in the middle of the shower. And so right after practice, if you had something to say about somebody, you'd go in a hot box and you'd And you'd have that person come in and you'd talk about it. Right. And what's happened in the hot box stayed in a hot box. And it was a novel way to just get rid of drama.

2:28.9

Like, burn it up, man. Get in the hot box. Get rid of it. And so I don't know if they have, if they do anything like that, but it was so useful to keeping nonsense from creating distractions around our team.

2:43.9

But here's what I wonder about, because again, football players, sports athletes, we're all humans, we're all kind of the same.

2:49.5

I don't know if you ever do this,

3:08.7

but I love following politics and I love watching all the crazies fight with each other. Same time. And so sometimes on social media, I will watch two people argue with each other. In fact, there are two guys I used to play baseball with. One is very conservative, MAGA. The other one's really liberal, and they fight with each other all the time. One of those woke, lip tards.

3:09.5

That's not nice.

3:10.7

And so I watch it.

3:11.2

And I'm like,

3:12.5

and I'm like and they're still friends like they fight they argue and we all move on why can't that happen amongst two giant players like why couldn't

3:17.7

jackson darn go back out of him and be like yeah trumps the man and abd was this mass deportation, I got a problem with that.
