Yesterday, a lawsuit was filed in Lubbock County, Texas, which happens to be the home of a certain university known as Texas Tech, who has a certain quarterback on the roster.

Guns up, as they say.

Yeah, right.

It was a few weeks ago that Sorsby checked in to an inpatient treatment facility for a gambling addiction.

And the lawsuit is basically aimed at getting the NCAA to make a decision, to not drag its feet,

to not put Brendan Sorsby in the untenable position of not knowing what his status is going to be,

as relates to the 2026 college season,

before the window closes on possibly entering the supplemental draft.

And there's been some confusion about the deadline.

According to the paperwork filed by Soresby's lawyers on Monday,

the deadline for application to the supplemental

draft is June 22. So what they're trying to do here, Chris, and I can always tell when a non-lawyer

is trying to figure out what this paperwork means. And I feel bad for the journalists who have to

figure this out. And I remember when I first

got started in this business, I felt horribly inadequate because I had no journalism training.

And after a few years, I thought, man, I would feel horribly inadequate if I had no legal

training because this stuff comes up all the time. And you can just tell by the headline

that the person doesn't know how that world works. You can tell by the

interpretation and the explanation that the person writing it is so far over their skis. They don't

even know they have skis on. And that's what happens when you haven't lived in that world.
