The second coach firing in season for the Giants.

You don't see this so often, but the Giants have decided to fire Shane Bowen as

defensive coordinator of the New York football Giants.

Just two games into Mike Kafka's tenure as interim head coach.

Clearly, this is something that was brewing.

There's also been speculation that it's not just Mike Caffis' decision that it's come down from above.

Maybe Joe Shane, maybe ownership.

We know John Mara last off season was basically like this defense better turn around. I got to tell you, I didn't like watching teams go up and down the field on our defense. And then they still kept Shane Bowen. But so much, there's only so many of these fourth quarter collapses you can take. And as you told me before the pod, Nick, and today we'll run through some film as we discussed this decision. But as you told me before the pod, you just couldn't believe that every single second down looked the same for the Giants as the Lions were trying to make that comeback. Off coverage, easy options for the Lions and another loss for the Giants defense. It was almost like the Lions. They were like, all right, on first down, we can try something

different.

Maybe it'll be a play action past.

Maybe we'll run the football.
