WFAN and O NJ both had said that John Merritt, the co-owner of the Giants had decided to fire Brian

Dayball on the flight home from Denver after that debacle in week seven but was talked out of it.

It just makes me wonder, is there, you never know, you never know when the lightning is going to strike,

but there's at least a rumble of thunder last week

that was out there and it was addressed and it was discussed.

And so if the loss to the Broncos was enough to get something almost moving,

if the reports are accurate,

and maybe the loss to the Bears gets that something moving again.

But whether it's now at the end of the season, it feels like...

It's inevitable.

That was yesterday morning.

On Sunday night, we mentioned during the Football Night in America broadcast,

not just the Jackson Dark Concussion,

but the fact that the Giants have now lost four games this season,

despite leading by double digits on the road, 11 straight losses on the road, 3 and 19 their last 22 games.

And one of the reasons we planted that flag on Sunday night was because of that reporting from last week.

It was disputed, but somebody asked Brian Dayball about it on Friday, and he just said,

hey, you can control what you can control. And obviously at the end of the day, you can't control

when a team decides to move on. That's what the Giants did yesterday. It hit right around, I think,

1 o'clock Eastern time. Dayball was 2040 and 1 in four seasons as the Giants head coach.

Winning coach of the year is the kiss of death.
