So it was really an enjoyable listen. And it just goes to show how much tape you guys have watched and what you guys have studied.

So I want to start before the draft, though, with the Giants. And I want to start with just the start of the off season for the Giants and the decision to move on from Wink Martindale, their former defensive coordinator, bringing Shane Bowen. I don't want to say it's running the polar opposite system, but there's a stark contrast when I watch these two coordinators on tape and what they're trying to do.

What do you make of the Shane Bowen edition for the Giants?

0:06.4

Do you have any insight maybe

0:24.5

what fans can expect based on what he ran in Tennessee? Yeah, definitely, you're right, a very

0:29.9

different type of defensive scheme. Having said that, pretty much everybody's defense is a very

0:34.0

different defensive scheme for Wing Martindales. I mean, he is one of the few coordinators really out on an island in terms of running his own

0:42.4

system that not many other people are running and certainly nowhere near the sort of variant

0:49.4

of that defense that he is running, even coaches that have coached with him in the past or guys that

0:55.1

are maybe offshoots from the similar coaching tree.

0:58.3

So any shift from Wing Martindale was going to go in a radically different direction.

1:03.5

And yeah, this is definitely one of the more sort of complete about faces that they could have made,

1:08.5

though.

1:09.2

You know, ultimately, I think it's probably the right decision in terms of moving in that

1:13.8

direction makes sense.

1:15.0

Like Wink Martindale runs a good defense, but it is a very, very unusual defense.

1:20.2

It's not one that a lot of other teams are running.

1:24.0

And so it's more difficult, I think, to find players for that, You know, and you have to build an entire scheme and an entire group of personnel to fit that defense.

1:34.3

Whereas if you're living in this world of coaching turnover year to year, you maybe want a little bit more versatility in your scheme than that and be able to take players

1:45.8

from different systems all over the defense and plug into the next system.

1:50.5

And it's closer to what they've been running before in the past.

1:53.2

So there's not as big of an adjustment to be made.
