Welcome to the 2019 baseball season.

I'll start with this.

I knew I was going to wake up this morning and edit this

podcast. I went upstairs to the Marriott Club lounge to get some breakfast, and I'm sitting there

eating a bagel, and a very, very nice old man who was a Giants fan, came down here, walked up to me,

very concerned about his face, and goes, Alex, what are we going to do? So I don't really know. I don't know what to tell

people when they asked me that. I think for the most part, what I told him, you just have to kind of view it,

even though the Giants won't ever say it, is a little bit of a rebuild and a little bit of a reset.

That's certainly what they've shown with their roster. I think that's what they showed in the offseason. I mean, the one major guy they went after, and a guy we talked about

a lot was Bryce Harper, and he fit that mold a little bit because of how young he is. So he would

have been around here for a while, but otherwise you look at these guys who are 29, 30, 31. They

didn't have much interest there. They had interest in getting a little bit younger, getting a little bit more athletic.
