Watching sports, knowing I'm going to talk about it the next day makes me think crazy thoughts, such as, oh, wow, this could be a really big deal.

This could be the thing everyone wants to talk about tomorrow.

But usually history is written by the winners.

So the Yankees winning and certain things not going the wrong way leave what could have been the biggest story in New York sports into a

footnote.

Jean-Carlos Stanton hitting a ball off of the fence, posing, pointing, staring in the dugout,

then getting on his horse, and barely getting to second base could have been a big deal.

But he didn't make it to second base, which is the most surprising thing about it.

Well, that's part one.

Part one is making it.

If he stops at first base or doesn't make it and is thrown out, I mean, the conversation around him is through the roof.

Yeah, but very rarely do you see Jean-Carlalus Stanton caught up in that stuff.

Oh, completely agree. So he's not aloof. He's not unaware. He's always a high IQ baseball player.

And I honestly think he was fooled because the center fielder and the left fielder were just looking at the ball. Yeah, their motion made it seem like they thought it was gone. Meanwhile, they just probably thought it was off the wall or at first they thought it was gone. I didn't realize it was off the wall because they were just standing there. Yeah. And then it hit the wall and then they moved. Yeah. And then John Carlos Stanton decided to move. I felt the exact same way about Stanton. That I think it depends who the individual is. If somebody, remember how many times Josh Donaldson used to pose? Yeah, he did it like four times. Yeah. If Donaldson does that, we're running the man out of town. Stop being cocky. you're not good enough. Stan is just slow. Like he just doesn't run. So his, you know,

Like, he just doesn't run. So his inability on the base path is more about that than it is being too cocky. But what I really appreciated about Jean-Carlo is, of course, it turned out not to matter. He got the second anyway. Yankees didn't score, but that wasn't necessarily his fault. and then they scored runs in the fourth inning won the game anyway.

What I loved was that tipsy in the fourth inning won the game anyway.
