I was 16 when I had my first trip down the Colorado River.

The river runs through the Grand Canyon between Arizona and Nevada and in my humble opinion

is the best way to see the National Park and all its God-intended beauty.

The river is 250 miles of glorious water, desert and red rock.

A great place for a kid to make some good money and absolutely nowhere to spend it.

I first started running the river as what they call a swamper.

A swamper is someone who gets a free trip in exchange for working their way down the

river and helping the river guides.
